Vermont features a diverse range of programs offering adaptive skiing across various resorts. These remarkable non-profit organizations are committed to enabling individuals with disabilities to experience the thrill of skiing on our stunning mountains. Supported by dedicated volunteers, these programs provide everyone the chance to enjoy the joy of skiing.
While individual adaptive lessons are excellent for learning and making new friends, group lessons add an extra layer of enjoyment to the skiing experience. For over seven years, we have proudly partnered with Cochran’s to offer ski lessons for students facing various challenges. Families often gather at the base of the tow rope, forming a community as they connect with one another while their children participate in individual lessons.
Cochran’s provides group lessons throughout the ski season, including special programs during vacation weeks. They warmly welcome students of all ages and abilities to join in the fun. Recently, Kayla participated in Adventure Camp, a daily two-hour clinic attended by over twelve other kids.
Cochran’s Adventure Camp presents an outstanding opportunity for students of different ages to unite and share exciting experiences on the slopes. This camp is about more than just skiing; it cultivates a strong sense of inclusion, connection, and belonging among all participants.
The inviting atmosphere at Cochran’s ensures that everyone feels valued and included. Instructors emphasize building camaraderie and support, helping everyone thrive. The friendships Kayla made at this camp have the potential to last a lifetime.
Cochran’s Ski Area offers a wonderful experience that goes beyond skiing. It fosters a community where students of all ages can connect and feel a sense of belonging in a supportive and engaging environment. This camp not only enhances skiing skills but also strengthens social bonds among participants, creating a memorable adventure for everyone involved.
Kayla is already excitedly talking about next year!
